What Is Radiographic Testing (RT)?

Radiographic testing uses ionizing radiation to image the internal structure of welds and components. It is well-suited to detecting volumetric indications such as porosity, slag inclusions, and lack of fusion in many joint configurations and materials.

Where RT Fits vs. UT

RT excels at volumetric indication detection and provides a permanent image record. For certain geometries, thicknesses, or planar flaws, ultrasonic techniques can be advantageous.

Do you provide digital X-ray and mobile radiography?

Yes. We deliver mobile RT and offer digital radiography NDT workflows for rapid imaging, review, and archiving.

We commonly perform x-ray weld inspection on piping girth welds, pressure vessel welds, boiler/structural fabrications, and castings. We can also coordinate gamma ray weld testing when the setup or material demands it.

Each exposure follows a pre-job plan with barricades, time–distance–shielding controls, signage, and communication with affected trades. We adhere to your permit process and applicable regulations.

We work under AWS, ASME, API, AISC, MDOT, and DSA requirements as specified in your project documents. Reports reference the governing acceptance criteria.

For many projects, preliminary interpretations are available the same shift, with final reports in 24–48 hours depending on volume and access.
